...according to the contents in my bag, I'm a... breeder. What exactly am I to... breed?

[Yes, he's been here for three months and never figured this out.

And Kitora is seated on a bench somewhere near the pokécenter of Violet City, reading this Breeder's Handbook, again. His Gloom is napping next to him, curled up in a blanket. Kitora takes a moment to stare at his book, then his pokémon, and then he shudders. He can't even imagine it.

You and I are in the same flowerbed, I guess.

I think we're supposed to be breeding Pokémon, but...I don't know how that works. I mean, one of mine is just a ball of gas and the other one looks like a plant, and you can't really breed those, right?

Though, speaking of flowerbeds! Maybe for Grass-type Pokémon you're supposed to plant them and wait for new ones to sprout...that would make sense, right?

That would make most sense but... It's... bizarre.

Planting grass-types? I don't know if they would appreciate it... Perhaps they sprout seeds.

Yeah, now that I think about it I probably wouldn't be able to bury Tulip after all...he's too cute. I'd feel bad.

What I don't get is why we're supposed to breed them in the first place. Can't they do that themselves? I mean, there's lots of wild ones...

Tulip...? What a sweet name.

I... That is a very good question.

Hehe, you think so? They were the first flowers I thought of when I was trying to come up with a name for him. I thought he was a girl at first, so I gave him a girly name...

Anyway, the more I think about this the more questions I have.

[There's silence as Kogasa pulls out her own copy of the Breeder's Handbook and flips through it.]

But at the same time, it seems kind of fun, doesn't it? I mean, we might be able to take care of the babies, and that would be kind of cool!

I think Tulip would work regardless of his gender. The meaning of a tulip surpasses gender.

[Though there is a very, very long pause at the idea of raising little pokéoffspring.]

Yeah, baby Pokémon! Wouldn't it be fun to take care of little guys like that? If raising wild Pokémon is so much fun, then raising them from when they're just little babies must be even better!

Looking at it like that, maybe breeding Pokémon won't be so bad after all, once we figure out how to do it!

I guess not...

[It sounds even worse to him.]
